You’re sitting at your desk and it’s covered in paperwork. You have 27 unopened emails and any one of them could be from a hot prospect. You check your phone, and you have 7 unanswered calls. In just a couple of hours, the business day will be over, and there is just no way you can get everything done.
What should you do?
Great news! Everything will still be there on Monday. It’s time to forget about what can’t be done, and start enjoying the holiday. You see, people with a great work ethic like us feel compelled to get everything done. It becomes an obsession that can lead to unending stress and future health problems.
It’s important to remember that the reason we work so hard is to have a better quality of life. If we sacrifice our personal lives because of an obsession for work, we are absolutely heading in the wrong direction.
As Bob Marley so appropriately stated, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”! Enjoy the holiday weekend with the knowledge that it will all be there waiting for you on Monday morning and you can jump back in with both feet.
Have a Happy Easter and a blessed weekend to you and your family!
